Your participation in FAUMUN will be rewarded with a grade and a maximum of 10 ECTS through the Center for Applied Philosophy of Science and Key Qualifications. To which extent the grade and credit points can be integrated into your course of study is up to you and the requirements of your course of study, since every subject decides on its own in what way and with how many ECTS it would like to incorporate the participation in the project.

You can find an overview of some fields of study below. Please keep in mind below listed information may have been subject to change as the stated information is generated through personal experiences of participants. Also, it does not necessarily mean anything if your subject is not listed. Ask the person who is responsible for your course of study or the responsible examinations office if and how it can be integrated. You may of course also apply and participate if the seminar cannot be integrated into your studies.

The following information is subject to change. We recommend contacting the person responsible for one’s particular subject for more information.

Political Science (B.A. major)

The seminar can be integrated in two different ways. Either as a graded Hauptseminar with 8/5 ECTS (old/new regulations) or as 10 ECTS ungraded key qualifications. Dr. Thorsten Winkelmann is the responsible contact.

Business Studies

The seminar can be credited with 5 ECTS in the module International Organization (Prof. Gardini) and/or with 5 ECTS as freies Vertiefungsmodul.

Socioeconomics

FAUMUN can be integrated into the degree program with 10 ECTS, 5 ECTS for the module Internationale Organisation and 5 ECTS as Auslandswissenschaftliches Kolloquium. Both are part of the Chair of International Business and Society Relations of Prof. Gardini.

Development Economics and International Studies

The program can be integrated as key qualification with either 10 or 5 ECTS.

Law

At the moment, the seminar can only be integrated as a language course. Prof. Dr. Zwickel is the responsible contact.

Business Law

The entire 10 ECTS can be credited by distributing 5 ECTS to each seminar. This is rather frequent at the chair of Prof. Ammon.

German and French Law

At the moment, the seminar can only be integrated as a language course.

Theatre and Media Studies (B.A. major)

The seminar can be used as a key qualification with 10 ECTS points. A grade is not required for this.

Communication and Multimedia Engineering

In this degree program, there are 15 ECTS intended for Social skills, which have so far only been filled up by German language courses. However, if the level is B2 or higher, the remaining ECTS may be reached with a program such as FAUMUN.

Industrial Engineering

The entire 10 ECTS can be credited as Allgemeines Wahlmodul when split into two 5 ECTS and graded. The program can alternatively be credited as ungraded key qualification. The responsible contact for crediting at the Examinations Office is Ms. Weitzenfelder.

The seminar has also been credited as Technisches Wahlmodul (e.g. Energieökonomisches Seminar at the Faculty of Engineering), however only as an exception and only after consulting Dr. Oliver Kreis.

Mechanical Engineering

The seminar can be credited as ungraded nichttechnisches Wahlmodul with 10 ECTS.

Chemical and Biological Engineering

The seminar can be credited as graded Wahlfach ohne Praktikum with 5 ECTS upon request to the chairman of the study commission. The responsible contact is Prof. Martin Hartmann.

Cultural Geography

The seminar can be credited as graded Projektorientiertes Hauptseminar (KG 41041) with 5 ECTS. The responsible contact is Prof. Dr. Bäumler.

Physics

The seminar can be integrated in two different ways: Either as a Nicht-physikalisches Nebenfach with 10 ECTS or as a 10 ECTS key qualification. Prof. Katz is the responsible contact.
