Auch dieses Jahr freuten sich die FAUMUN-Teilnehmer auf die jährlich stattfindende BayernMUN, bei der wie jedes Jahr die Generalhauptversammlung simuliert wurde. Durch die Teilnahme von Schülern und Studenten mit verschiedenem Vorbereitungsniveau an der BayernMUN herrscht dort immer eine ganz besondere Stimmung und man viel für die NMUN in New York mitnehmen kann, weil auch bei der NMUN sehr unterschiedliche Charaktere mit sehr unterschiedlicher und teilweise sich widersprechender Vorbereitung anzutreffen.
Dieses Jahr hat die BayernMUN in der Jugendherberge Nürnberg stattgefunden, was die Anreise und Übernachtung für alle sehr komfortabel gemacht hat und durch die Erfahrungen der letzten Jahre, lief der Ablauf trotz des neuen Veranstaltungsorts sehr flüssig ab.
Nach dem Check-In für die Jugendherberge und für die Konferenz, konnte man als erstes bei einem Vortrag über die „Rules-of-Procedure“ seine Kenntnisse noch einmal auffrischen, bevor die offizielle Eröffnungszeremonie mit interessanten Reden begann und die BayernMUN 2019 wurde mit dem Hammerschlag des „Chair Director“ offiziell eröffnet wurde.
Dieses Jahr waren über 50 Länder vertreten und da eine Delegationen meist aus zwei Personen bestand, saßen fast 100 Leute im Plenum. Eine ganz neue Erfahrung für uns nach der SecMUN, bei der kleinere Komitees simuliert wurden und eine tolle Vorbereitung für alle, die bei der NMUN in New York in großen Komitees sein würden.
Der erste Tagesordnungspunkt ist stets die Reihenfolge der zu diskutierenden Themen festzulegen, was dieses Jahr einige Zeit in Anspruch nahm, bevor eine Mehrheit für „Promoting Access to Renewable and Sustainable Energy for Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development“ gefunden wurde.
Von da an wurde zu diesem Thema in mehreren Gruppen an verschiedenen Ansätzen gearbeitet, mit anderen Arbeitsgruppen oder einzelnen Delegationen diskutiert und verhandelt, um in den nächsten zwei Tagen Resolutionen zu schreiben und erfolgreich verabschieden, die dieses Problem bestmöglich angehen.
Die intensiven Verhandlungen führten zu mehreren erfolgreichen Beschlüssen in der Schlussabstimmung am Sonntag. In der Abschlussveranstaltung wurden den Teilnehmern der „Position Paper Award“, der „ChairAward“ des Konferenzmanagements und der von den Teilnehmern gewählte „Peer Award“ überreicht. Alles in allem war es ein sehr interessantes Wochenende, die Arbeit der Vereinten Nationen aus erster Hand kennenzulernen und zu erleben, indem man in die Rolle eines Delegierten trat.
BayernMUN 2019
Like every year the FAUMUN participants were looking forward to the annual BayernMUN, where the general assembly was simulated as every year. Due to the participation of pupils and students with different levels of preparation at the BayernMUN, there is always a very special atmosphere and one can take a lot for the NMUN in New York.
This year the BayernMUN took place in the youth hostel Nuremberg, which made the journey and the overnight stay very comfortable for all and due to the experiences of the last years, the course ran very smoothly in spite of the new venue.
After the check-in for the youth hostel and for the conference, there was an opportunity to refresh the rules for the conference in a lecture on the „Rules of Procedure“ before the official opening ceremony began with interesting speeches and the Bayern Model United Nations Conference 2019 was officially opened with the hammer blow of the „Chair Director“.
This year more than 50 countries were represented and as a delegation usually consisted of two people, almost 100 people sat in the plenum. A completely new experience for the FAUMUN participants after the SecMUN, where smaller committees were simulated and a great preparation for all those who would be in big committees at the NMUN in New York.
The first item on the agenda is always to discuss the order of the topics, which took some time this year before a majority could agree on „Promoting Access to Renewable and Sustainable Energy for Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development“.
From then on, many groups of different sizes worked on different approaches to this topic, discussed and negotiated with other working groups or individual delegations, in order to be able to write resolutions in the next two days and successfully adopt resolutions that best address this problem.
The intensive negotiations led to several successful resolutions in the final vote on Sunday. In the closing session, the participants were presented with the Position Paper Award, the ChairAward of the conference management and the Peer Award chosen by the participants. All in all, it was a very interesting weekend to get to know and experience the work of the United Nations at first hand by taking on the role of a delegate.
