FAUMUN participated in BayernMUN 2026, a three-day conference that brought together around 200 delegates from different universities and schools. The conference took place at the historic Kaiserburg in Nuremberg, offering an impressive setting for diplomatic debate and international exchange. From Friday to Sunday, delegates worked across three committees: the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and the Security Council.

Each committee addressed a pressing global issue. In ECOSOC, delegates debated Promoting Access to Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable and Modern Energy for All, exploring ways to strengthen sustainable development and international cooperation in the energy sector. The UNHRC focused on Combating Intolerance and Discrimination against Persons Based on Religion or Belief, discussing measures to protect human rights and foster mutual understanding among communities. Meanwhile, the Security Council addressed Protection of Civilians in the Context of Peacekeeping, requiring delegates to navigate complex geopolitical considerations surrounding international security and humanitarian protection.

This year’s conference also introduced new and interactive elements. Delegates had the opportunity to hold their own press conferences, simulating media engagement and public accountability in international diplomacy.

BayernMUN also featured a broader academic program, including keynotes, panel discussions, and town halls, where experts and participants explored questions surrounding the future of the United Nations and the evolving global security framework. A highlight of the social program was the Hertie School x UNSN meet and greet, a cocktail reception held at the Kaiserburg, where delegates could connect, exchange ideas, and learn more about academic opportunities at the Hertie School.

Beyond the formal sessions, social events such as the Delegates Dance on Saturday created further opportunities for networking and strengthened the sense of community among participants.
We would like to sincerely thank the BayernMUN Secretariat and the United Nations Society Nuremberg (UNSN) for organizing BayernMUN 2026 and for creating such an engaging and well-structured conference.
